Appointment types may vary. Well-child appointments, also called physicals, are very extensive. Growth and development are assessed and health and wellness issues are discovered. There appointments may take a total of an hour of your time. In general, follow-up appointments are brief 5-10 minutes unless it is about a chronic illness. Urgent care/same day/sick visits are generally 10-15 minutes. We try hard to keep same day appointment availability. We also offer extended visits, usually 30 minutes to discuss chronic issues such as sleep problems, behavior problems, and chronic abdominal pain, headaches, and more. These appointments are offered on a more limited basis.

Well-Child Visits
Check-ups or physicals are recommended at 1 months, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 2 year, 3 year, 4 year, and 5 year. After age 5, well-visits are recommended at least every other year through adolescence and yearly for children playing sports. Please call at least 2 weeks in advance to schedule your appointment. Be sure to check with your health care insurance about coverage for well-child visits. Please remember to bring your child's immunization card to all visits.

Late Appointments
Your time is just as valuable as ours. We have set aside time in our schedules just for your child. If you are 15 minutes late for your  appointment, it may be necessary for you to reschedule. We may be able to work you back into the physician's schedule, but a wait may be necessary.

After Hours Care
If needed, we request that you use Baptist Hospital as this is where we use an answering service. You will be connected to the doctor directly. Please limit calls after 10:00 PM to true emergencies. Have your pharmacy phone number ready and turn off call blocking.

Prescription Refills

We now have a medication refill Iine where you can Ieave a request for medicines to be refilled. ADHD medication requests can be left on this line, but the prescription must be picked up in person. Antibiotics will not be refilled unless they are for prophylactic use or for acne.

Insurance and Billing

We are participating physicians in many insurance plans. An updated list is available from the receptionist and on our website. Please inform us of any change in your health insurance and be kind enough to fill out a new demographic sheet when you change insurances. This allows us to bill correctly. Be sure to bring your child's insurance card to every visit.

Payment Options

We accept personal checks, cash, Mastercard, Visa, and Discover. We also offer a flexible payment plan. Please see our Financial Coordinator for details. We are happy to file insurance for your reimbursement as long as you are free to choose your own pediatrician.

Payment Policy
As a courtesy to you, we will file claims to your insurance company. We ask that you bring complete insurance information regarding your policy with you, including your insurance card. Any fee, co-payments, or deductibles are due at the time of service.

My billing service is INTEGRIS Physician's Billing Service. You will receive monthly statements until your account is completely paid. These statements include money due from the insurance company and any balance you owe. If you think there is a problem with your coverage or if your insurance has not paid in 90 days and you are receiving the bill, please call your insurance company.

If you have any questions about your statement, please call our Billing Service at 951-2298 or the toll free number 1-888-951-2985. Look in the lower right hand corner for any payments you owe. As the parent, you are financially responsible for any costs the insurance does not cover.

Confidentiality & Medical Records

Medical records can only be released from our office with a signed consent by a parent or legal guardian. Please allow 1 week for our staff to prepare copies of records. As a professional courtesy, there is no charge for us to send a copy of your records to another physician. If you need copies made for personal use, there will be a charge of $1.00 for the first page and $0.50 for each additional page.Copies of medical records must be picked up by a legal guardian with a photo ID. This is to protect your child's privacy


Facilities and Equipment

We do minor surgeries such as laceration repair, treatment of warts, removal of moles, circumcisions and ingrown toenail exlusion. We do casting for nondisplaced fractures. We aggressively manage asthma in the office to prevent ER visits and hospital stays. We do hearing tests for all ages, transcutaneous bilirubin checks on newborns (no blood drawn), pulmonary function testing, teenage gynecology and have a CUA waived laboratory.
